My name is Frank, and I have been living at Starfish Village for almost a year. When I moved in, I was a little unsure of what life here would be like, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that I had found the right place. From the beginning it felt comfortable and familiar, almost like I had already been part of this home.
What I enjoy most about Starfish is the people. There is a friendly feeling in the house. Residents talk with each other, share moments throughout the day, and take part in activities together. It feels natural and easy to be here, and that has meant a lot to me.
The activities are a big part of my day. I enjoy the exercise, the music, and all the social programs we have. I like to stay active and have conversations, and Starfish gives me plenty of opportunities to do both. I honestly enjoy everything we do because it keeps me moving, thinking, and feeling good.
The staff here make a huge difference. They are consistent, caring, and they treat us with a lot of kindness. Seeing the same caregivers every day helps you build trust and comfort. Over time they become part of your daily life and part of your support system.
I also appreciate the freedom I have here. I can move around comfortably, go outside, and my family can visit whenever they want. It doesn’t feel strict. It feels like a real home where you are respected and supported.
Since moving into Starfish, I feel stronger and more confident. I feel better physically and mentally. People even tell me I look younger and more energized, and I believe it. This environment has helped me improve in ways I did not expect.
I also appreciate that the owners, Kris and Ben, are present. They come by often, they know our names, and they talk with us like family. That is something you do not see everywhere, and it means a lot.
Today, Starfish isn’t just where I live. It is my home. I feel safe, cared for, and surrounded by people who want the best for me. That feeling of belonging is something very special.
If someone asked me where they should go, I would tell them to come to Starfish. You will feel welcome from the moment you walk in, just like I did.
I am grateful every day that this is where I am. Starfish has given me comfort, friendships, and a true sense of belonging, and that means everything to me.
